This webinar is based on the first three chapters of the TAANA Solo Practice Section book, Guidebook for Starting a Solo Law Practice. Randi Kopf, the chapters’ author and solo practice lawyer for 30+ years, will give concrete, practical and affordable advice to begin your solo law practice. This webinar will explore factors to consider, such as, determining a corporate or noncorporate structure, financial considerations, consultants, where and how to practice, insurances, technology, billing services, practice management options, web design, hosting and social media. Startup practice strategies will continue in Part Two, June 4, 2025. That webinar will include specific practice programs, consultants, devices, computer options and equipment, advice and more for setting up your solo practice.

  1. Begin to develop a plan to start your solo law practice (to be continued in Part Two). 
  2. Identify the who, what and why you will need to consider, draft, purchase, contract with, file and determine before your practice goes live.
